So this morning I called my insurance company because last week I hit a parked car. Not hard, but apparfently in just the right spot to require a whole new bumber. 900 dollars worth of bumber. On her car, not mine. The insurance company was very nice and helpful, and with the coverage I have, I don't pay a penny out of pocket, not even my deductible.

Isn't that grand?

Now here's where life kicks you in the teeth. I left Edie's house (with all the band merch in my car) at 1:30 tonight, ready to sleep and get concert-ready in the morning. When look out, there was an accident in the fast lane that I couldn't stop in time to avoid.

Yep, I hit the car that hit the other car. They had already collided minutes before I got there, and the drivers were on the shoulder, safe and sound, so I didn't hit anyone. But I have a monster headache, airbag burns, and no car. And the shakes. It was scary.

My life, ladies and gentlemen.

Omg! I'm so sorry! I am just finishing up dealing with my car accident from a couple months ago and I still have all the jitters and stuff. It's a truly horrible experience. I hope everything gets worked out okay. good luck!

I'm really okay now. There was absolutely no way I could have avoided it, even if I got a ticket. Even the cop didn't want to give it to me, but he had to.

My Chemical Romance, but I'm going to see Panic in June!

Ah. I'm not a huge MCR fan, but I like a few of their songs.

Patd . . . I've got tickets but I'm not sure I'm gonna go. I do remember being disappointed last year. Their live shows are too much show not enough singing. Though the fangirls would disagree, I'm sure. Also, I wasn't ridiculously impressed with the new album. I love 9 on the Afternoon, but there's only a couple other decent songs.

And I need time off to go with Verbatym to Utah to open for The Higher just two weeks before Patd, so I may not be able to take time for them.

For me, bandom is this really weird place in my head, because I am such a fan, but when I say that, I'm talking about the public personas, not really the music. I mean, I've been an RPF reader for years--since I joined the SPN fandom--but I love their work, too; and in the case of bandom I don't feel like I know enough about it to judge it, you know? I'm pretty much a music ignoramus, and it doesn't especially bother me.

I do adore Pretty.Odd., although this is probably at least partially due to the fact that I can so easily see the OT4 running rampant through it, but as a matter of fact I first listened to the MCR music a friend sent me on the way to the concert, and hadn't heard any before that! It was a chance to give this rock concert thing a go, and a chance to meet up with the online friends I've made. I don't think I'll do another MCR one, since I'm not really much of a fan of the music now I've heard it, and now I've had my big public meeting I can catch the other girls for coffee or a movie. But I'm going to Panic in June, and if they keep along the road Pretty.Odd. sent them I'll probably go on seeing them whenever I get the chance; I've heard a lot of mediocre things from most people I realise know a lot more about music than I ever will, but--hey, I like it with me in the car, what more can I ask?

Can't ask for more than that, not at all.

Pretty. Odd. is decent for me, don't get me wrong. But I liked the debut better. And you'll def enjoy the show. Lots of fangirls will be there, promise. Do you have decent seats, or did you get pit? When's the show? Mine's June 13.

(I wish you could come out here in May. See band life from the inside. Even if you have no interest in The Higher or my boys, you could at least get a feel for playing a venue.)

That would be so awesome--why am I so BROKE, that's what I want to know! I'm already pretty much stretched to my limits going to Beth's wedding, though. *sigh*

And I'd like to meet your boys, just because they're yours. *G*

It's a pit-only kind of venue...although I'll probably wind up paying a little extra to get up on the balconies (I didn't bother for MCR, which was at the same place) so as to be able to see better. June 4th! And then I'm off to [livejournal.com profile] wildebeth's wedding two days after...*happy grin*

LOL--I'm in Utah--omg. You're coming here. Like, you're probably going to the same place I was just in. Will you come play with me? I'll buy you a coffee or we could go to dinner or--anything!

The Electric Theater in St George? Is that where you were?

AIM or YM?

No. Damn. But I bet I could still swing coming to see you--it's a four-hour drive, it's not like I'm coming from Idaho or anything. Will you be around the Saturday after, or are you going straight back?

Date: 2008-04-13 11:29 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sproutgirl.livejournal.com
We go straight back. But if I drive out earlier than everyone else, we could hang, and you could stay for the show. I have to take Fri off, and can't take Sat, so I do have to go back. But I could load up the merch the night before and go early in the morning, and we could do lunch, and then we do the show!

Whaddya say?

*bites lip* I...might be able to. I'd have to see if I can swing work off, is the problem...we have THREE PEOPLE on maternity leave, the fuck? But...hm. What time is the show? Would I get any quality time with you if I came like halfway through it?

Date: 2008-04-13 11:38 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sproutgirl.livejournal.com
I don't know the exact time. These things usually start early . . . Like, 6 or 7. If you don't mind helping to run a merch counter, we'll have talk time. Not a hell of a lot. I don't know if it would be worth the trip for you though.

If you could swing the time off, that'd be awesome. You have over a month to think about it. I totally get if you can't though.

Even if you can't get the day off, if you don't mind staying up, I'm sure we could hang after. Assuming, of course, there's somewhere to hang at 11 pm in St George, UT.

Oh, Sprouts! God, you're not having a good time lately, are you, hon? I'm so sorry you were in another accident - the car is written off, is it? I'm so glad you weren't seriously hurt (even though the headache and burns don't sound great). Gah. I want to call you right now but I hope you're sleeping. I'm sending all my love and hugs your way.

The car is gone. I'm about to get up off my bum and go to the tow yard to clear it out, then pick up my check from insurance. Car shopping begins this afternoon or tomorrow.
